OMG--I'm 60 Years Old!!!

Yep, it's true I just turned 60 years old. Now, how the hell did this happen? I look in the mirror and it still looks like me and it still feels like me. Where is 15, 20, 25, 30 and all those other years before this 60th birthday? Are they hiding somewhere? Are they angry with me, is that why they left? It's a tad "mind boggling" to think about how fast time actually flies. And it's also a tad "mind boggling" that we are so unaware of it as it is happening.

When I was in my 20's I was a big fan of Harry Chapin--remember him?--I really loved one of his songs a lot and I find that recently I've been singing it in my head:

All my life's a circle,
Sunrise and sundown.
The moon rolls through the night time,
Til the daybreak comes around.

All my life's a circle,
but I can't tell you why.
The seasons spinning round again,
The years keep rolling by.

How true are these words? Very true indeed for all of us.
Now, to be honest turning 60 really isn't so bad-- it's just a number just like any other number. I think what makes it a little painful is that being 60 is a reminder to us that life is short and very precious. Well then we need to relish every minute of it, take one day at a time, and try very hard to see the glass as always "half full"! Oh yea, and dance to the music too.
